Special Gathering on Ganesh Chathurthi We are proud to be Indians. India is a country which is well known for its festivals worldwide as it decorates itself with a garland of vivid cultural and traditional authenticity. We, at Jubilee Hills Public School, celebrated Ganesh Chathurthi with loads of devotion. We installed Lord Ganeshas idol to mark and embrace the birth of Lord Ganesh. On this day we performed pooja, sung devotional songs followed by a skit to let the audience know the history behind the festival and its importance. Our Project director Shri Pramod Sir explained us the history of xenotransplantation surgery that we Indians have been doing from ages. We offered prayers to Lord Ganesh with his favourite delicacies and certain selected stems of plants (Patri). Usually in the month of Bhadrapadam it pours a lot and the spread of diseases is at its peak. To avoid many such contagious diseases the drinking water need to be pure, fresh and germ free. Hence we extensively use the stems of medicinal plants in Ganesh pooja which is then immersed in to waterbodies along with the Ganesh idol. With this process the water bodies get pure and germ free. We at Jubilee Hills Public School, Rampally performed pooja for eleven consecutive days with lots of devotion in heart and pride in soul. On 11th day after chavithi we immersed lord Ganesh in a nearby lake and sought blessings from him.
